The chaplaincy garden is being demolished to make a new carpark for the university. In the meantime, the secure cycle sheds are all full, and no one knows how to fund more. What to do, what to do? Justify the university's spending. What would *you* use/pay for? * What? - uncovered bike parking (e.g. u-frames) - covered bike parking - secure uncovered bike parking - secure covered bike parking - covered by CCTV? - patrolled by security? - with access restrictions (e.g. at night, maximum stay, ... ) * Where? - small parking areas close to each building - larger parking areas at a few locations on campus - in one-two of the car parking slots everywhere there's a car park * Cost? - free (university pays) - a small fee, but subsidised by the university - $$ - per-use - per term - graded: different rates for ug/pg/staff (ideally the university would supply facilities to its staff and students, but if they provided a choice of, say, u-frames free or secure parking at a cost, how much would you pay for secure parking?) * Other thoughts? -
